The 19th Annual Newfoundland & Labrador Police and Peace Officers' Memorial Parade
Due to Covid-19 restrictions we have scaled-down our annual ceremony, there will be no formal parade occurring at the Newfoundland and Labrador Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial located at the Confederation Building (East Block) in St. John’s.
Her Honour The Honourable Judy May Foote, P.C., O.N.L., Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador will lay a wreath on behalf of the people of NL.
Representatives from each Police and Peace Officers’ agency and/or organization are welcome to attend. Those in attendance will be instructed to comply with the province’s health guidelines (stay at least 2 metres (or 6 feet) away from other people whenever possible).
An invitation is extended to everyone to informally visit the NLPPOM throughout the afternoon on September 26th to pay respects and reflect. For those who are unable to attend, we hope they will take a moment in their own way to recognize the significance of Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial Day.
Again, physical distancing, when combined with proper hand hygiene and cough etiquette, has been shown to limit the spread of COVID-19.
